Not to long ago, I picked up my S&W M&P 15 Sport II. ![]() It came equipped with the Juggernaut Hellfighter maglock system. You tap the special rear takedown pin, the upper and lower crack, and then you can drop the mag. Since it's maglocked, you get to keep all the yummy evil features like pistol grips and collapsible stocks. It's pretty fast, needing only one more button press to drop the mag, then a rack of the charging handle (since the Juggernaut maglocker replaces the bolt catch). The considerable downside to the system is in the case of a malfunction, like a double feed or failure to extract. With the BCG pushed back because of the blockage, you can't crack open the rifle, and if you can't crack it, you can't drop the mag to clear the blockage. #AR MAGLOCK HYPERSWITCH VS KINGPIN CRACK# You need to either pull the rear and front takedown pins to allow the maglock enough clearance to disengage and allow mag release, or you need to undo the bottom plate of the magazine to relieve pressure and allow the bolt to go forward. ![]() Researched a bit, and got a AR Maglock Gen4 plus the Kingpin (also a Strike Industries bolt catch). It supposedly allows mag drop even with a malfunction. I installed the Gen 4 ARMaglock without changing out the Juggernaut pin. #AR MAGLOCK HYPERSWITCH VS KINGPIN CRACK#įor normal operation, it works flawlessly in that configuration. ![]() #AR MAGLOCK HYPERSWITCH VS KINGPIN PLUS#.
